BOOM BOOM POW

so friday night, wow it's taken me a while to feel not tired! i didn't even drink. o.O

odd? probably.

Well good thing I didn't, me thinks I was probably crazy enough anway. Who would think I wasn't drunk I was still shouting, screaming and squealing. I'm glad everyone else was drunk though, then they won't remember my awful dancing. seriously, i think i'm the world's worst dancer yet i love to dance? i feel sorry for my friends ahaha

but all in all it was an awesome night! before hand i went to see my brother play basketball so i went to B's house like hours late then we left for the hideaway lounge party up!
suprisingly my feet felt fine after that! yay! no sore feet!

yeah, i agree! this is quite a pointless post (i'm just procrastinating from my methods hw. hehe)

all i know is that i had A LOT of fun and I can not WAIT till school is over and I can just have 3 months of holidays partayy!

negative: my bag broke :( the strap totally broke off and i lost the clasp ! bye bye bag!

barriers

ok so TONIGHT I have a party! woo! so I always thought I only really needed to get my parents stamp of approval before I went out. WRONG. Apparently, I also need to ask my grandma, conversation as follows:

Me: Gran I'm going out tonight

Gran: WHAT!? WHERE?! WHEN?! WHO?!

Me: A uber cool lounge, after the game with my friends for her birthday

Gran: WHAT TIME DOES IT FINISH?

Me: I'm getting picked up at 11:30

Gran: wahhhh?! why so late?!

Me: It actually finishes at 1:30, so I'm actually leaving early

Gran: FINE. go have fun, little girl.

end of conversation. interesting, i have to go through this routine investigation 3 times before I can go out. yay. and I always come late and leave early :(

It sucks. but at least I get to go out, right?

marriage + who pays?

lovers' gaze

OK , so the other night I was at a family friends house and we somehow got to the subject of marriage... yeah pretty out there eh?We were discussing what marriage meant to different people/cultures/religion you get the point and who paid for everything, the following was revealed:

my dad was saying how in Singapore marriage was you know union of two people blah blah. but that the families viewed it as the "giving away of a daughter" to another family. I suppose this is quite traditionalist? and thus, the guy's family would pay because he has to "prove" that he can be the breadwinner and support the daughter and their future family, after all a daughter is a pretty pricesless gift! so that's why the guy's family pays but you know they earn it all back through presents because they don't get presents as such, rather, they recieve money :)

on the other hand, my family friends, lets call them the Bs, said that at their wedding they're families went dutch. so the bride's family paid for the reception, the groom's paid for the drink and the couple themselves paid for the band? or something like that, I can't remember but the point is that it was all divide up. Also, marriage was more or less the union of two loved ones :)

what do you guys think marriage means and who should pay?

Personally, I think both are very suitable to their own cultures but how does it work in the 21st century?

also, where would your dream wedding be?

i think mine would be in the spring to the man of my dreams (cliche i know shut up) in somwehre like the botanical gardens underneath some cherry blossoms. that's for the real ceremony, I don't really know about any of the other stuff like receptions?

i miss you

so now i know i've had that up there for a while now, I havn't had time to actually sit down and explain! sorry!

SAC tomorrow totally stressed now, realised I don' tknow as much as I thought I knew GAH. I'm so screwed :(

anyway, on with the blog.
On Monday I was sitting on the bus with my badminton partner coming home from an away game at Tintern. We're the only year 12s on the bus, except K and K, but anyway. Normally when we do badminton we're a group of asians. the asian gang. or i was part of it anyway. and well the year 11s were sitting towards the front of the bus laughing and smiling and cracking jokes and it made me nostaligic. I remembered when I was there at the front laughing and having fun about our victories. Now i'm at the back of the bus with like my "only" friend chatting. It's kind of weird because I use to be part of that boistrous group and it just makes me sad at how far we've grown apart.

When I see you guys in the hall way now , we barely say hello. No that's not even right, I like NEVER see you guys in the hallway. it's like the circle of our life that use to connect and intercept, are just two seperate circles travelling on different paths

It's like we never knew each other

dreaming things

8168.) I thought I liked someone. I don’t. I just love the idea of liking someone.

I think this is so true. You think you like them but really you like the idea of what they can be to you. They become like an object. This has happened so many times to me, and when I get to know them more for who they are, they're not what I thought they were in my head.

Sometimes it's just easier to just keep dreaming than face reality.

never knew

Last night, after my previous post, i learned that someone does remember me.

It was kind of scary, being told that someone I could barely remember, remembered my name. I only wished I found this out becuase of good news. He was one of our neighbours from our old neighbourhood, his name is Jeff. Great friends with my dad. But last night, he called to tell us that Mary, another neighbour, had passed away from stomach cancer.

I didn't even know she was sick; let alone know she had cancer.
When I didn't see her at the annual Christmas party, I just thought they had other engagements. How wrong I was.

I remember all those times I would ride my bike up and down the hill and always wave at auntie Mary, then race back down; trying to beat my brother and Jeremy. She'd always tell us to be safe. I also remember the first time we re-visited our neighbourhood after moving away, she still remembered my name and gave me a christmas present. It was a smiggle pen, just before they became an overnight sensation, and a notepad.
All these little things, I don't think I'll ever forget them.

I can't believe she's gone.

RIP Mary.

lost in the crowd

Sometimes I wonder if people from my past remember me, or even random people on the street; I wonder if they notice me.. or if i'm just another face in the crowd?

I remember everything from my primary school years. I remember the girls I hung out with. Those i loved. and naturally those who were my worst "enemies." but do they remember me? I don't think they do.

A few months ago now, I was at a lecture with a few friends outside school and they were telling me about this girl, lets call her Gem*, and how she's really funny and she was coming. Now i knew a Gem, from AGES ago, and I was like oh, she wouldn't happen to go to Lauriston, would she?
and guess what? she did! She was the Gem from my childhood, a girl who I kind of played with ocassionally and our mums use to talk to each other all the time. Now I remember all these things about her, don't ask me why, I just do. I suppose she made an impression. When i met her, we were introduced and she was like, "Hey my names Gem, what's your name?"

Yup, you guessed it, she didn't remember me AT. ALL.
Have I changed that much? Or am I just not memorable?

I always feel like I'm the one who remembers things no one else does. The one who has to make the "first move." Or the one who can't move on.
Why doesn't anyone remember me?

OH AND ONE MORE THING

I don't understand why someone would want to end their life.
I honestly don't.

Why is there suicide?
Why are people asking for euthansia?

Ok, on some level I do understand euthanasia. But I don't understand suicide.

Why would you want to kill yourself? Is it really worth it?
I guess if you believe no one loves you , then you think it is because you think no one cares about you. However, what if you're delusioned? What if someone out there really does care about you? Why endure so many years of pain just to die. Living is harder than dying

It's easy to die, one stab and it's over, but living? Now that's a challenge! From every day lives to those unexpected disatrous events that happen.

I always think that when someone commits suicide, that it's such a waste of life; because there are so many people out there, every. single. day. who fight so hard to live. So hard against the odds; to overcome it and see their next birthday.

If you're one of those people who wants to kill themselves.

don't. do. it.

la di da di da

I think I am officially the laziest blogger in history.
I love diving into projects, unfortunately, I more often than not abandon it within the span of 1 week because I just can't be bothered.

I love to write, I really do, but this whole log in, wait for it to load just bugs me.
It takes soooooooooooo long!

anyhooo i will blog like actually blog. I think.

but back to the whole diving into projects thing. Isn't it fun when you think of something you can do and are just SO motivated to do it? Get pumped, start it, then leave it alone/it falls apart?
love the start
hate the end
isn't it funny how we identify love and hate as red?
like the quote 'you see red' when you're angry
but love is red because it's your heart

Except the problem is it's not just projects I'm getting lazy about. It's school and homework. I just keep waiting for the weekend to come around and i say to myself i'll catch up i'll get ahead this weekend. BUT i just end up watching Sex and The City or a Disney Channel Original Movie, or whatever is on showtime

It's just so bad this is the final strech. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I know year 12 will be over soon.

I don't want to live with regrets, but how is that possible when I'm just plain lazy?

That's another thing. Today and yesterday we've been asked to submit our year 12 jumper nicknames in. Now i put in "LEEKY" except i'm scared I'm going to regret it later.. sure it seems fine NOW. but what about LATER?

I suppose in life we'll never know what we regret and what we don't, but we can always minimise the possibility of regret..... right?
